Liberal Bob Rae Indirectly Supports Foreign Aid Monies Being Used To Support Child Slave Labour

Ok. Maybe that’s a stretch, but not by much.

But Liberal Bob Rae thinks that money we give nations should not hold a caveat that lets us impose our ideology on those countries. He said exactly just that when addressing the decision by our government to not allow our foreign aid to be used to pay for abortions.

Liberal MP Bob Rae told reporters in Ottawa the Federal Government is trying to impose its moral agenda on other countries, adding “Canada is now taking an ideological position and, frankly, I think they’ve raised something which could well have been avoided in the effort to create a stronger international consensus.”

So where does Liberal Bob Rae draw the line? Ideology has a very broad description.

If we decided to give foreign aid to Lebanon would he be ok with them using that money to buy bombs and drop those bombs on Israel? THAT is ideology.

If we decided to give money to a Afghanistan, would he be ok with them using that money to buy acid to throw in the face of women who do not wear a burka? THAT is ideology.

If we decided to give foreign aid to Afghanistan, would he be ok with them using that money to grow Opium and sell it for import into Canada? THAT is ideology.

If we decided to give foreign aid to China….oh wait we DO give foreign aid to China….would he be ok if they took that money and ran over student protesters with tanks in Tiananmen Square? THAT is ideology.

Liberal Bob Rae has NO scruples. None. He is well past his due date but his orange roots are clearly showing.

Minister John Baird Knocks Ottawa Councillor Marianne Wilkinson Down A Notch

Today the Ottawa Taxpayers’s Advocacy Group held an open forum for city council candidates.

Councillor Marianne Wilkinson from Kanata North took the liberty of giving a backhand remark about a federal proposal to ban dumping raw sewage into the Ottawa river.

When Minister John Baird got up he returned the favour by giving her a direct smack when he chastized Councillor Wilkinson for spending money on things like pedestrian bridges when they should be focussing on priorities such as stopping the dumping of sewage into the river.

The whole room erupted in applause showing where taxpayer priorities lie.

Found Money – In A Recession, Every Little Bit Helps

A friend introduced me to this website last week. It is the Bank of Canada’s site for money that people may have left in an old bank account and forgotten. After 10 years of inactivity, banks transfer the funds, along with the account information to the Bank of Canada.

Just by plugging in a few friends names, I have discovered money for two friends totalling about $500.

It may not sound like a lot, but money is money. And this might be YOUR money just sitting there.

I encourage everyone to bookmark this site and check it every year or two.

Liberal Pollster Frank Graves (or Frank Graves's) Mistake

I’m NOT upset that EKOS founder and President Frank Graves donated over $11,000 to the Liberal Party, while only donating about $500 to the Conservative Party. I myself donate nothing to the Liberal Party while donating a modest amount annually to the Conservative Party (along with plenty of time and volunteer hours).

I’m NOT upset that EKOS founder and President Frank Graves made $6000 for EKOS from the government for every $1 he donated to the Liberal Party. I myself do not suckle the public teat and am proud of that. I work in the private sector, making over 99% of my revenue from private sector companies.

I AM upset that he did not have the decency to provide full disclosure that he is clearly a Liberal in sheep’s clothing EVERY time he was on the CBC providing “analysis” on his numbers.

It appears that Frank Graves is digging his political grave when he says things like:

But in an interview today with The Globe and Mail to explain his apology, Mr. Graves went on to say that polling data shows the Conservative Party “does seem to provide a haven” for people with xenophobic or homophobic views.

Remember, EKOS spelled backwards is SOKE. And SOKE the public is what Mr. Graves has been doing making most of his money off of government polling contracts.

Support Bill C-391

My open letter to the eight Liberal MPs who voted to abolish the long gun registry last year but who are now being whipped by Liberal leader Michael Zsohar.

Click Here to email them your views.

Dear Liberal MPs.

I am writing to appeal to you and ask you for your help.

I am not a gun owner. I have never owned a gun. But I am a tax payer who is tired of seeing the long gun registry suck up my tax dollars when we all know that the vast majority of gun crimes is committed by hand guns in an urban environment and not by long guns in the hands of hunters and farmers.

From my understanding, your leader has decided to whip the upcoming vote on abolishing the gun registry. (Bill C-391). I am writing to implore you to stand up together as a group and once again support what is the right thing to do for our nation. Your leader is making you all a sacrificial lamb in the next election if you choose to let him whip you to vote against this bill.

Please know that I appreciate your hard work representing your consitutents, even though I am not a direct supporter of your party, I do respect all MPs and especially the wishes of their constituents. I hope you respect their wishes as well.

Thank you and regards,

Mulder

Kathleen Wynne Imitates Daffy Duck. Calls Opposition "Despicable" For Opposing Liberal Plan To Educate 12 Year Olds About Anal Sex

I swear I am not making this up.

After moving forward with plans to change the sex education curriculum, Dalton McGuinty turned an about face.

McGuinty’s surprise move came just three hours after his ministers defended the scheme at Queen’s Park.

During the morning question period, debate turned nasty with Transportation Minister Kathleen Wynne, who was education minister until January and oversaw the new curriculum development, calling the Progressive Conservatives “despicable” for opposing it.

“You’re aligning yourselves with homophobes,” a visibly angry Wynne shouted at the Tories. Wynne is the first openly lesbian cabinet minister in Ontario history.

Hey Ms. Wynne. Shouldn’t 12 year olds be more concerned about the three R’s? Or maybe daydreaming about their first kiss? Or maybe wondering if the new episodes of Sonny With A Chance are coming out on Family Channel?

Liberal Leader Michael Zsohar's Circle Includes Supporters Of International Drug Traffickers

Yup.  You heard right.

On Sunday’s Question Period in an interview with Craig Oliver, Michael Zsohar claimed the Prime Minister’s judgment was in question for how he handled the situation surrounding Rahim Jaffer’s original arrest for drunk driving and cocaine posession.  He asked if the PM called Ms Guergis in to ask her what was going on?  How could this have happened? As if it was the Prime Minister’s fault.

From the Turnaround Is Fair Play department,  how does Michael Zsohar sleep at night knowing one of his MP’s has written letters in support of an international drug trafficker?

How bad is his judgment that Michael Zsohar, once acclaimed as leader of the Liberal party, did not boot Sukh Dhaliwal from Caucus when the MP for Newton-North Delta claimed an international drug trafficker was rehabilitated?

Surrey Liberal MP Sukh Dhaliwal has written to a U.S. District Court judge on official House of Commons stationery in support of convicted international drug trafficker Ranjit Singh Cheema, The Vancouver Sun has learned.

Cheema was sentenced in California this week to five years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiring to smuggle 200 kilograms of heroin from Pakistan to North America in 1998.

The drugs were supposed to be exchanged with cocaine from a Colombian cartel in a deal that was intercepted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Dhaliwal’s letter, dated July 9, 2008 and addressed to Judge Stephen V. Wilson, says the Newton-North Delta MP had met Cheema at “community engagements” and that the gangster seemed to be fully rehabilitated after fighting extradition for 10 years.

Michael Zsohar should put his money where his mouth is and reprimand his drug trafficker supporting MP.  I mean come on. He wrote a letter supporting a guy who planned to bring 200 kilograms of Heroin into North America.  200 Kilograms!!  For real??  Yes For real.

Michael Zsohar needs to work on his judgment. And now you know how stretching the truth and making allegations can be turned around on you don’t you Mr. Zsohar.

Cookie Takes The Cake (and the icing)

Well after going 3-0 in day one, and 2-1 in day two, my daughter Cookie and the Ottawa Fusion 14U girls team went into the elimination round with some pretty high expectations on Sunday.  The first match had them dumping the Tornadoes in straight sets 25-14 and 25-16.  A good start to the day.

Their second match was against the South County Bandits from Essex and the roll continued with a 25-14 and 25-15 straight set victory.

This set up a repeat showdown against the Leaside Lightning.  The team that had given the Fusion their only loss of the tourney a day earlier.  Leaside is coached by Canadian Olympian and bronze medalist John Child.  Leaside is one tough team.  The Lightning were flawless in a first set trouncing of the Fusion 25-9.  The Fusion were demoralized.  The smiles were gone.  The heads were hanging.  They were in a very dark place.

The second set started out with more of the same and the Leaside Lightning took a commanding 19-7 lead.  When up to serve stepped the youngest Fusion player.  Barely 13 years old and with nerves of steel, Bekah went on an 11 serve streak to bring the game back to 19-18.  Halfway through the streak you could see the spirit returning to the Fusion as if it was being sapped directly from the Lightning.  The teams traded a few points but the comeback was well on it’s way and the second set was taken by the Fusion 25-22 in an amazing show of spirit, resilience and determination.

The trend didn’t change much in the third set as the Fusion were rolling at this point.  When all was said and done, the tiebreaker went to the Fusion 15-6.  In what might be called the comeback of the tournament the Fusion went from being outscored 44-16 to outscoring the Lightning 33-9.  The comeback was complete and the Fusion were off to the Gold Medal match against the number 1 seed in Divison 2, the North Bay Blizzard.

Both games in the final were great displays of skill, power and poise, but in the end Cookie and the Fusion won 25-20 and 25-18 to take the Division 2 Gold Medal!!

While waiting for the medal ceremony, the team was chasing down the Ottawa 14U Fusion boys to see how they had done in their bronze medal match (which they won) and we were asked if we wanted another shot with the PM.  Clearly the girls gleefully accepted.

The award ceremony had all the parents gleaming but there was one more award to be presented.  Each team awards one player with the Award of Excellence which was voted on by the players and coaches.  It goes to the player who best displays a combination of traits including spirit, leadership, poise, skill, perserverence, etc.  I had a tear in my eye when the coach called Cookie up to receive the award.

There wasn’t a prouder father.

The icing on the cake.

Lighting The Fuse in KW

As pointed out by Jo at Blue Like You, our PM showed up in KW yesterday to watch young Mr. Harper play volleyball with his 14U boys team at the provincials taking place at RIM park. Coincidentally, my daughter Cookie plays for the 14U girls team from the same club. After going 3-0, the girls raced over to watch the boys play and between matches we were all lucky enough to get a team photo with the PM and I managed to sneak another photo with my son.

This being my third or fourth time meeting the Rt. Honourable Stephen Harper, it was actually more fun to watch his son and the other Ottawa boys kick some butt on the court. They have some really talented players who can leap like no tomorrow.

I think what was even more fun was listening to all the 14U girls from teams all over the province whispering “that’s him!” and “wow, I can’t believe he’s here”. Of course they were ALL talking about Ben and not the PM.

Go figure.

Good luck to both OFVC teams. The elimination rounds start tomorrow.
